Pump is the mechanical energy of the prime mover into liquid potential energy or kinetic energy of the machinery.
According to the working principle can be divided into:
(1)Blade (or dynamic), such as centrifugal pumps, axial flow pump, Francis pump and so on.
(2)Volumetric, such as piston pumps, diaphragm pumps, screw pumps, vane pumps, gear pumps and so on.
(3)Other forms, jet pumps, air lift and so on.
Centrifugal pumps are a type of vane pump that generates centrifugal force by the rotation of one or more impellers and converts the mechanical energy into the hydrostatic pressure or kinetic energy of the liquid.
Working principle: Driven by the impeller, the impeller rotates with the impeller at high speed, causing the liquid to generate centrifugal force. At the same time, the impeller is thrown to the impeller exit along the flow path of the impeller, so that a low pressure is formed at the center of the impeller inlet to continuously infuse the liquid to form a continuous pump State, while inhaling liquid, while discharging liquid.
Centrifugal pump can be classified in the following ways:
(1)According to the different transmission medium can be divided into: pumps, pumps, acid pumps, alkali pumps;
(2)According to the axis of the installation location can be divided into: horizontal pump, vertical pump;
(3)According to the number of impeller can be divided into: single-stage pump, multi-stage pump;

Centrifugal pump has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, light weight, stable flow, easy to manufacture, and easy maintenance. Centrifugal pumps, however, have poor applicability to highly viscous liquids and high pressure and low flow rates, and are often inadequate if they must be primed before starting.
As shown on the right, the main components of the centrifugal pump are: impeller, shaft, suction chamber, hydraulic chamber, diffuser (in the pump casing), seals, seals, bearings, etc.
Centrifugal pump main performance parameters are speed, flow, lift, power, efficiency and allowable cavitation allowance [NPSH], etc.
